The Bayelsa State Polytechnic, Aleibiri was established in 2014 by the Bayelsa State Government through the Bayelsa State Polytechnic (ESTABLISHMENT) law, 2014. The law was passed by the State House of Assembly and assented to by the Executive Governor of the State, His Excellency (Hon) Henry Seriake Dickson on the 30th day of April, 2014.

Bayelsa State Poly Post UTME Screening Eligibility:
1). Candidates for admission into the National Diploma and the Diploma Programmer should posses at least five(5) credit passes (O/L) which must include English Language and Mathematics in not more than two sittings in WAEC, NECO, GCE TEACHER GRADE 2 and NABTEB as specified in JAMB Brochure.
2). Candidate must be at least 16 year of age
3). Candidates for the National Diploma Programme must have scored a minimum 120 in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
Prospective candidates are STRONGLY advised to upload their ‘O’ LEVEL RESULTS unto the JAMB website (CAPS) at the nearest JAMB Office or JAMB accredited CBT Centre.
