Bayero University Kano (BUK) is a university situated in Kano, Kano State, Nigeria. It was founded in 1975, when it was renamed from Bayero University College and upgraded from university college to university. It is the first university in Kano State.
Bayero University initially was Ahmadu Bello College. The college was named after the Premier of Northern Nigeria, Ahmadu Bello.
It was founded in January 1960 by the Northern Nigeria Ministry of Education headed by Isa Kaita to prepare senior secondary certificate holders for General Certificate of Education (G.C.E.) and A-level in Arabic, Hausa, Islamic History, Islamic studies and English Literature.

When is BUK Post UTME Registration Starting?
The Management of the Bayero University Kano (BUK) has announced 19th August 2022 as the latest commencement date for the sales of the 2022/2023 Post UTME Screening Application form.
This means that the 2022 BUK Screening Form will start selling officially on buk.edu.ng from 19th August 2022.
Requirement for BUK Post UTME
- To apply for BUK Post UTME, the candidate must have made the Bayero University, Kano their 1st Choice in the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
- The candidtaate must have scored a minimum of 180 in his or her JAMB UTME examination.

How to Apply for BUK Post UTME
Eligible candidates should log on to Bayero University, Kano website https://buk.edu.ng and, click on Admissions, this should take a while to load.
On the new page, click on Post-UTME Application and login with UTME number as username and surname in lowercase as password.
Furthermore, Candidates will have to Generate and print the payment slip and proceed to any commercial bank to make a payment or pay online the sum of 2,000 naira.
After the payment is made, the candidate must return to the University portal and upload a passport photograph and complete the application form.
Having completed the forms, the candidate must then print out the Post-UTME Examination Pass.
