The name of the University is David Umahi University of Medical Sciences, Uburu, Ohaozara LGA of Ebonyi State Nigeria. The University was named after the Governor of Ebonyi State by the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, in recognition of the Governor’s unprecedented infrastructural development of the State and for exemplary leadership.

The establishment of this University is borne out of the desire to enhance the quality of manpower development in the health sector and the improvement of the quality of healthcare in Nigeria and in West African sub-region. The University’s central goal is to develop critical competencies and expertise in the health sciences under the most conducive learning environment with the highest form of professionalism, ethics and excellence.
The University will pursue its vision of achieving the highest form of quality manpower development for healthcare and other service delivery for all persons irrespective of gender, race, religion, and socio-economic status.
In all aspects of the operations of the University, we will uphold the University’s core values of excellence, godliness, ethics, compassion, respect, delivery, collaboration, innovation, accountability, learning, improvement and sustainability.

What is Cut Off Mark?
The term “cut off mark” can simply be defined as the minimum score or points required for admission consideration into any tertiary institution of learning. This means that for any admission seeker to be successful, he or she must score up to the cut off mark and above to successfully secure admission into any higher institution of learning.
These institutions include; universities, polytechnics, colleges, etc. Only candidates who score up to the minimum mark in the recent JAMB-UTME exercise would be given first consideration for admission.
The management of King David Umahi University of Medical Sciences, Uburu has pegged the institution’s cut off mark for 2022/2023 academic session at 170 and above.
All interested 2022 JAMB-UTME candidates who scored up to 170 and above are qualified for admission consideration into the institution of learning. Qualified candidates can proceed for the school’s internal screening/exam as when due.
