How to Link NIN to your MTN, Glo, 9mobile or Airtel phone number – NIMC Sim Card Link

Link NIN to MTN, Glo, 9mobile or Airtel phone number / SIM Card – For Nigerian mobile subscribers that have not registered for National Identification Number, the deadline to update their SIM with NIN has been announced

As the deadline is fast approaching, we would like to show you ways to know if you have successfully linked your NIN to your SIM.

How to link your NIN with your MTN Phone number

To link your NIN to an Mtn number, simply dial *785# using the mtn phone number you wish to link, enter your NIN and submit or;  Visit https://mtnonline.com/nim/using your phone or computer.

MTN Network has asked subscribers to dial *785#

After you dial this USSD code, you will be given the option to input your NIN.

After you have put in your 11-digit numbers.

You will receive a message that they have “successfully” received your NIN.

Please Note that the National Identity Management Commission will verify the NIN that you submitted to MTN.

If you are not sure if you have linked your NIN to your MTN SIM before, you can try doing it again until you see the message that says it is successful.

Glo network providers will send you a message that they have “successfully” received your NIN.

If you updated your NIN via text message to 109, they will reply the message to notify you if it was successful or not.

If you also dial *109#, they will ask you to input your 11 digits NIN Number and after, you will receive “Successful” message .

You can also do this more than once if you are not sure if  you have linked your NIN to your Glo line before.

For the other networks, you simply visit http://mobileapp.gloworld.com/glonin/home

Dial *200*8#

It will bring two options whether you want to verify if you have linked your NIN to your 9mobile SIM or you just want to start the linking process.

Press 1 and send to verify.

It will send a message to show you whether you have successfully linked your NIN to the 9mobile SIM.

For the other networks, you simply visit https://nin.9mobile.com.ng/

If you have linked your NIN to your Airtel line by dialing *121*1#.

You will receive a message that you have successfully inputted your 11 digits NIN and that they will get back to you after verification from NIMC.

If you did not receive this message, you can retry it until you see the message to show that you have successfully submitted your NIN to update your Airtel SIM.

Please Note – The National Identity Management Commission, NIMC will verify all the updates and your mobile network will later send a message saying that your update was successful.

Also note that NIMC will do the final verification before your network will send you a message that it is successful.

National Identity Management Commission also said that people who used their Bank Verification Number to generate the National Identity Number must still visit their enrolment centre to complete their NIN registration.

  1. Pls what can someone do when your NIN is not successful and it’s been long due and the owner of the office where we did it is telling us to exercise more patience.
