NWU Post UTME Form 2023/2024

Yusuf Maitama Sule University Kano is a Nigerian public university owned by the Kano State Government. It has two campuses: City Campus located in Kano, and the main campus located along General Buhari Way Kofar Ruwa Kano.

Yusuf Maitama Sule University, (YUMSUK) was formally known as the Northwest University (NWU).

Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso set up a technical committee to establish the second Public University in Kano State, after the Kano University of Science and Technology. The committee included Hafiz Abubakar, Muhammad Yahuza Bello, Fatima Batul Mukhtar, Bayero University Kano and Umar Garba. The committee submitted their report to Kwankwaso, who submitted it to the Kano State House of Assembly for their approval. After they passed the bill, the National Universities Commission was contacted for final approval.

NWU Post UTME Screening Requirements

Only candidates who have met the following requirements are eligible for screening.

1. All candidates Must have a minimum of 160 and above in the 2022 JAMB UTME or applied for Direct Entry.
2. All candidates must have chosen the Northwest University, Kano as first choice.
3. Candidates must have registered in the Northwest University, Kano (now Yusuf Maitama Sule University) 2022/2023 Admission Screening PORTAL.
4. Candidates must have obtained a minimum of 5 Credit Passes including English Language and Mathematics in SSCE (or Equivalent) at not more than two sittings for both UTME and D.E. Candidates.
5. Candidates must have possessed 2022 UTME result Slip or 2021 D.E online registration SLIP.
6. Must have obtained DIPLOMA, IJMB, NCE (or equivalent) certificate or statement of result for DIRECT ENTRY (DE) Candidates.
7. D.E. Candidates with Diplomas must have minimum CGPA of 3.0 for Science based programmes and 3.5 for Arts based programmes respectively.
8. D.E. Candidates with N.C.E. must have minimum of 9 points for relevant programmes in the Faculty of Education.
9. D.E. Candidates with IJMB must have minimum of 7 points for Sciences and 8 points for Arts based programmes respectively.

How to Apply for NWU Post UTME Screening.

1. Candidates wishing to register should visit the University WEBSITE (www.nwu.edu.ng) and click on “2022 ADMISSION PORTAL” to register for the Aptitude Test or the D.E. Screening.
2. Candidates should generate REMITA payment Invoice from the portal and proceed to any Bank nationwide to make payment of the Sum of TWO THOUSAND NAIRA (N2,000.00)only as the Screening Charges.
3. Return to the Portal to complete the registration and print your Acknowledgement Slip to be presented together with other credentials during the Aptitude Test or the D.E. Screening.
