The University of Abuja is a tertiary institution in the Nigerian capital, Abuja. It was established in January 1988 (under Decree No. 110 of 1992 as amended) as a dual-mode university with the mandate to run conventional and distance learning programmes.

Academic work began in the University in 1990 with the matriculation of its pioneer students.

The University took off from a temporary site, made up of three blocks of building meant for a primary school in Gwagwalada, tagged the “mini – campus”.

Academic activities started on the mini – campus in 1990 after which the University was allocated an expanse of land covering over 11,800 hectares (29,000 acres) along the Abuja city Airport road for the development of its main campus.

Cut off mark is an agreed score set by a particular institution as a basics of admitting students into the department of study.

UNIABUJA Post UTME Eligibility:

  • Candidates who score exactly or above the required cut off mark.
  • Candidates who chose University of Abuja as their preferred choice of institution during the UTME Registration.
  • Candidates are also required to obtain the required O’level credits for their programmes as specified in JAMB Brochure.
  • Candidate must be at least 16 year of age
  • Interested Candidates who did not choose University of Abuja during the UTME Registration but wish to study in the University, should change to the UNIABUJA via JAMB website.
